Aiming to create alternative local products to its imported analogues. Some selected arthroscopic tools such as shavers and anchors of different sizes, were selected for pilot redesign and manufacture (as prototype(s)) in Egypt. These tools are critical for the development of a home-based surgical arthroscopy capability on a national level.
Biomechanics laboratory was established in 2018 to test these prototypes to estimate lifetime and evaluate its performance towards the end of refining the designs.
