Mechanical Engineering Department is one of the oldest departments of the Engineering Division. It was established in 1965 as a mechanical applications unit to serve the National Research Centre in all mechanical applications, technology development service, industry and all related services. It also has a great role in the performance of research and development in all fields of mechanical engineering, medicine, dentistry, chemical industry, pharmacy, and others.
